Kanban Tasker is a personal task board on this website and in an Android app. This page says what it stores about you, why, and who else sees any of it.

What we store

  • Your account: your e-mail address and, if you set one, a scrambled (salted and hashed) form of your password. We never store the password itself, and we do not send you e-mails.
  • If you sign in with Google: Google's ID for your Google account, kept only in a scrambled form, and that account's e-mail address. Google gives us these when you agree on its sign-in screen; we get nothing else from your Google account (no name, photo or contacts).
  • Your tasks: your swimlanes, columns and tasks with their titles, descriptions, due times, reminders and repeat rules, and your settings, with the time each was last changed. A deleted task leaves only a short marker (its ID, without its content), so that the deletion reaches your other devices.
  • Sign-in sessions: for each browser and app you sign in on, a random sign-in code (only a scrambled form of it on the server), a short description such as "Android app" or "Windows browser", and when it was last used.
  • Against abuse: counts of sign-in attempts, kept with your internet address or e-mail only in a scrambled form, for about a day.

Your browser or the Android app also keeps a copy of your tasks, so that Kanban Tasker works without a connection. Signing out removes it from that device.

What stays on your device

Dictation is recognised on your phone (Android's on-device speech recognition) or, in Chrome, on your computer. What you say is never sent to us or to any speech service. Reminders are set on your phone by the Android app.

Why

Only to sign you in, keep your tasks the same on every device, and make the next task of a repeating one. There are no ads, no tracking of you and no selling of data.

Counting visits

Visits to this website are counted with GoatCounter, without cookies and without storing anything in your browser. It gets only the page's address and title (the app's screens go under fixed names such as "/app/board", never with your tasks, swimlanes or anything you type), the site you came from, and your browser, screen size and country, which it reads from the request. It also counts clicks on links to other sites and on the Android app's download. It keeps no personal data, and the counts cannot tell who anyone is. The Android app counts nothing.

Who else gets anything

  • Cloudflare runs this website and its server. The database with your account and tasks is stored in the European Union (Cloudflare D1). Like any host, Cloudflare handles your internet address to deliver the pages.
  • Google, when you choose to sign in with Google.
  • GoatCounter counts the website's visits (above); it gets nothing about your account or your tasks.

Each of them handles the data under its own privacy policy. Nobody else gets your data.

Cookies

None to keep you signed in: the app keeps its sign-in code in your browser's storage. Signing in with Google uses short cookies, ten minutes at most, to finish that sign-in safely. Nothing for advertising, and counting visits uses none.

How long, and deleting it

Until you delete your account. In Settings > Data you can download your tasks as a file. Settings > Account > Delete account removes the account and all its tasks from the server at once (more, and how to ask by e-mail: Delete your account). A sign-in session that is not used for a year ends by itself.

Your rights

You can ask what we store about you, have it corrected, deleted or handed to you, and object to how it is used: write to [email protected]. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in the Czech Republic that is the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ).

Kanban Tasker is made by Silenos Works, an independent studio from the Czech Republic. Questions: [email protected].
